About Me

A Londoner born and bred, I've worked for over thirty years as teacher, theatre director, actor, playwright and tourist guide. I can offer guided walks, coach tours and informed visits to sights, cathedrals, museums and galleries.

A Blue Badge Guide, City of London Guide Lecturer, Clerkenwell and Islington Guide and a qualified guide for the 2012 Olympic venues.

I can promise breadth of knowledge with specialised experience in literature, the performing and visual arts and history.

My main achievements in other fields? I lost out to Liam Neeson for a major acting award; was beaten by Stephen Sondheim for best play - I'm still bitter; wrote a radio play for Ian McKellen and had two years on the writing team for ‘The Archers’; I also taught the former WBO Middleweight champion, Nigel Benn - trouble is I taught him English and not Boxing. Then there was the pleasure of working with Natalie Portman on ‘V for Vendetta’, and with Oliver Reed In ‘Funny Bones’, but that’s another story….

For two years I was Writer in Residence at London's Unicorn Theatre for Children.

Above all, I guarantee good storytelling and the facility for making the seemingly complex entertaining and comprehensible.
